Social and Solidary Economy means that the economy is a not an end, but a medium which serves personal and community development. According to this perspective, people, their communities and their environment, are at the heart of the economical activity. To achieve it, people enrolled in the fabric of Social and Solidary Economy are constantly trying to build relations of production, distribution, consumption and funding that are founded on the principles of justice, cooperation, reciprocity and mutual aid.
The Network of Social and Solidary Economy, of which REAS-Aragón is part, is composed by more than 300 entities that are grouped into regional and sectoral networks. Its ultimate goal is to make another way to focus and manage the economy possible – promoting, supporting and coordinating social and associative initiatives in business and funding. All the member entities are committed to the six main principles of the Solidarity Charter:
- Environmental sustainability
- Commitment to the environment
